Our Process

Many of our clients have come to us knowing that they need to do something about planning for the future, but are really not sure how to go about it. They have also complained that others have offered to help, but it’s all seemed a bit ad hoc.

If you choose to deal with us, you’ll find that we have a 4-question approach to almost everything we do. It sounds very simple, but it provides powerful results!

  • Where am I now?

  • Where do I want to be?

  • What are all the ways of getting there?

  • What is the best way for me now?

To answer the first question, we will ask you to complete a Confidential Fact Finder, which asks a series of questions about your income, assets, liabilities and goals. You don’t have to give us all the information, but the more information you do give us, the more clearly we can see where you are, and the more certain we can both be that the advice we give you will be appropriate.

Armed with that Fact Finder, we then address the second question. We determine together a number that represents the dollar value of your target. This might be a certain amount of assets at a specific point in time, or it might be a certain amount of income at a specific point in time. Along with that we also agree on a picture of what your life style will be like at that point in time. That is, retired, or debt free, or working a two day week!

We then do the work for you in answering the question, “What are all the ways of getting there”. Depending on the complexity of your circumstances, and your goals, we may be able to give you some suggestions on the spot, or we may take some time on this.

Finally, before you proceed with any action, we will provide you with a written plan. This advice represents our answer to your question, "What is the best way for me now". Furthermore we will outline any costs that you may incur, and also what we will be paid (these may be different amounts). If you are happy to implement our advice, you will assist you in completing any paperwork, and we will help to ensure your program is commenced as efficiently as possible.

Once you have become a client, we help to monitor your progress towards achieving your goal. Some clients prefer that we offer a “Dentist Service”. That is, we’ll ring you every 6 or 12 months as nominated, and conduct a review. Other clients prefer a “Doctor Service”. That is, they call us when they want a check-up, or feel something needs attention. We’ll ask you about this as part of the program implementation.

  2. What was your target point.

  3. The target line to getting there.

  4. Your current position versus the target

Having done that, we will make suggestions if fine-tuning is needed, or get you heading towards a bigger target than you might ever have imagined possible!
